The Challenge

The Challenge

Ongoing wave action had eroded sections of the bank, leaving exposed roots and unstable ground along the water’s edge. The homeowner also wanted a distinctive stone staircase, but needed the project to stay within budget and meet U.S. Army Corps of Engineers requirements.

Our Solution

Marine Specialties managed the project from permitting through installation, handling the Corps of Engineers approval process so the homeowner did not have to navigate it alone.

Our team then sourced stone steps that matched the homeowner’s vision while working within the approved budget. Each step was carefully placed into the shoreline, alongside precision hand-placed rip rap designed to create a strong, tightly fitted erosion-control barrier for Lake Lanier’s demanding wave conditions.

The Result

The completed project reinforced the eroding bank, covered exposed roots, and reduced shoreline fall hazards. The custom stone steps created a safer, more comfortable path to the water while giving the shoreline a distinctive, natural look tailored to the homeowner’s property and budget.
