Boat Dock Layouts

On a residential dock in Lake Lanier, the minimum slip size is 10 feet x 20 feet, and the maximum is 20 feet x 28 feet. Once we have the specific dock dimensions, we can provide you with all dock layout options. Docks are subject to approval by the Army Corps of Engineers and regulations vary across different lakes.

Various methods for maximizing deck space include slip inserts, single slips with side entry, PWC slips, and wider upper decks.

We can design the upper deck to be the full length and width of your dock. With a 32-foot x 32-foot dock, the most common size of upper decks are 16 feet to 18 feet.

Our roof style options include gable, hip, hip and a half, gable and a half, and upper sundecks.

Dock Railings

Our railings are 42 inches high which exceeds the minimum Army Corps of Engineer requirements of 36 inches and gives our docks a much more aesthetically pleasing look that a luxurious investment like this deserves.

We offer two-line rail, picket railing, clear glass, tinted glass, and cable railing. We have multiple color options available that include mill finish, antique bronze, white, and mocha.

Rip Rap

We offer two different rip rap styles — granite and river rock. Both types provide superior erosion protection and shoreline beautification, with our client’s preference being the primary selection factor. Our granite is coarse-grained, jagged, and silver-grey in color, whereas our river rock has a smooth surface with earth-tone and brown undertone varietals.

Our highly trained technicians arrive by boat to repair your dock with limited disruption.

You don’t need to be home during the repair. Once the project is complete, you will receive a follow-up call from your Sales Manager to verify that the completed project meets your expectations.

Dock repairs can be seasonal, and the schedule is subject to capacity constraints on our team; however, we pride ourselves in prompt turnaround times and look to meet every client’s need within a one to three-week time horizon. We try to schedule larger repairs in fall or winter.

Marine Specialties recommends having your dock professionally inspected every six months.

Lift Repair

If your boat has the correct lift, with appropriate care and maintenance, your boat lift should last at least 10 to 20 years.

We do offer trade-in values if you wish to upgrade your lift. They are determined on a case-by-case basis and depend on the lift’s condition.
